‘Dream Expressionist’
Oil Painting is Next Renaissance
for ANNIE HASLAM
English classical rock band
lead singer premieres 2-dimensional side with 3 fall exhibitions
The distinguished artistic
career of ANNIE HASLAM is undergoing an entirely new
"renaissance," but this time, the gift at its core has nothing
to do with Annie’s five octave vocals, or for that matter, music.
The woman whose clear,
high-flying soprano vocals earned her worldwide attention as the lead
singer of the English classical rock band ‘Renaissance’, has
embarked upon an entirely new exploration in oil painting as a ‘Dream
Expressionist,’ with creations that individually explore and channel
the subconscious.
This fall, just a little
over a year since she discovered and began developing her wondrous
abilities, Annie is proud to unveil her two-dimensional side with three
exhibitions in the Philadelphia area, her home since moving to America a
decade ago. Annie’s transcendental paintings will be on exhibit (in

Annie was caught by surprise
in the summer of 2002, when in the midst of reassessing her personal and
professional life, she woke up one morning suddenly realizing an urge to
start painting right away. She bought an easel, canvases, oil paints and
an instruction book. After only the first few pages, stopped reading and
started painting.
Unknown to Annie, this gift
was waiting to appear at the appropriate time in her life. Says Annie,
"I definitely feel an energy flow in my painting, and it shows in
my work. I never have any preconceived ideas. Every painting is a
complete surprise."
Annie has been fervently
painting every day since, with colors and movement that make you want to
walk right into the canvas. She has already used a painting called ‘Whales
Tale’ as the cover art of her recent CD, ‘One Enchanted Evening.’
"People look at my
paintings and tell me they are not only touched by them," says
Annie, "but they also resonate within them."
As she’s long been doing
for people with her singing, Annie wants to simply make people feel good
with her painting. Like her voice, her artwork is something that comes
from deep inside of her, "deep within the Earth, and far out into
the universe."
