‘DANCEABLY SWEATY’ ROCK BAND WITH A LATIN SOUL RESPONDS TO OVERWHELMING RADIO ACTIVITY

WITH SERIES OF CD RELEASE PARTIES IN KEY CITIES

AND GREATLY EXPANDED SUMMER U.S. TOUR PLANS

Events set in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Asbury Park, NJ as KARMA tops all Triple A artists

in increased spins on Radio & Records chart; #11 with a bullet

Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Music Festival top stops

“There are a lot of catchy songs here. … 'Karma' is a song that hopefully you'll be hearing a lot more of." – David Dye on The World Café

“Seven guys with chops, smarts, and a lead guitarist whose fluid, thoughtful solos banish the showboaters.” – Sound & Vision

NASHVILLE (July 6, 2005) – Responding to overwhelming reaction at Triple A radio, deSoL has scheduled a series of CD Release Parties around the country to celebrate the July 26 street date of its self-titled Curb Records debut CD and has greatly expanded its summer U.S. tour plans.

As of this week, KARMA, the first single from deSoL, is nipping at the Top 10 on Radio & Records’ Triple A format chart at No. 11 with a bullet, and is clocking in as the “Greatest Gainer” on Billboard’s Triple A Monitor. Last week, the smooth, surging track for the first time gathered the most increased spins (57) of ANY other charting artist –13 ahead of runner-up U2! – and was #2 Most Added at Triple A the previous week.

press quotes

“Rock Lives: Beyond Springsteen and Bon Jovi Asbury Park, where Bruce Springsteen got his start, has one of the strongest pop identities of any city in New Jersey. That’s a burden for any band from the area to overcome, but for deSoL, a new Latin group that has been making a splash not only down the Shore but across the country, it’s just one aspect. … (deSoL is) part of the march of Latin music into the mainstream.”  – New York Times

"These seven Latin hipsters have an explosive, addictive rhythm that would sound great in our IROC-Z Camaro (if we had one)." - Boston Globe

"This memorable effort indicates that deSoL is a band to pay very close attention to. 4 STARS" - All Music Guide

“HOT PICKS: Audiences will surely discover why seven (band members) is a lucky number.”   New York Post

bio

Curb Records logoA perfect musical balance is nearly impossible to achieve. It takes skill, a burning passion, and a vision that sees beyond the commonplace. For Curb Records' deSoL -- the Asbury Park, NJ rock band with the Latin soul -- a perfect balance is a way of life. It's the seamless blend of seven inspired musicians, a brotherhood whose collective name means "Of the sun." It's their heady, polyrhythmic mix of chanted melodies and mystical atmosphere with the contemporary edge of big modern rock hooks and flourishes of rap and hip-hop. It's songs like "Karma," from their debut album, deSoL, which draw people of all backgrounds into their vibrant, pulsating flow. And with deSoL's explosive live shows, like their recent appearance at the renowned Bonnaroo festival, that audience is growing with every performance. read more...
