A salsa band with nine members and one mission: to explore and expand the boundaries of traditional salsa music using a largely original repertoire with tight, tasteful arrangements and new exciting interpretations of select salsa classics.

For the past 12 years, BIO RITMO has treated audiences across America to its own unique and inspiring vision of what a salsa band can be.  Beginning with its birth in 1991 as a rhythm-driven drummers ensemble, BIO RITMO has sought to connect with its fans every second it spends on stage and with every song it commits to record. With each of its first three recordings, BIO RITMO introduced fans to entirely different facets of its sound.  From the diamond in the rough that was Que Siga La Musica to the more refined, more Cuban Salsa Galactica and on to their major label debut, Rumba Baby Rumba (Mercury Records), BIO RITMO has never stayed in one place too long. And now, having satisfied its curiosity experimenting with new styles and techniques, the band has eagerly returned to its roots. Embracing the stripped-down and straight-up street-wise salsa sound so rare in todays contemporary Latin music scene, BIO RITMOs old school with a twist approach is converting skeptics and delighting dancers from New York to Tucson, San Francisco to San Juan, and Chicago to Charleston.

To celebrate and document a return to its roots, BIO RITMO has released its eagerly awaited fourth recording. This self-titled collection of eight salsa songs, written and arranged by BIO RITMO members, is sure to become an instant classic which will exemplify their most confident musical statement to date. With its impeccable grooves, inspiring solos and soul-searching lyrics, there can be no doubt that with this latest recording, BIO RITMO has chosen to clear its own path and find its own destiny.
