Annie Haslam of the
English classical-rock band Renaissance, now living in Bucks
County, was feasting on vegetable dumplings and tofu satay with
soba noodles Friday night at Old City's Continental, when she
bumped into restaurateur Stephen Starr. (No food was spilled or
anything.) In his past life as a concert promoter, Starr
produced a few Renaissance shows, including a two-nighter in the
1980s at the Academy of Music. These days, Haslam is an
expressionist oil painter; she was headed to the galleries for
First Friday. Her own first major exhibition will be Oct. 4
through 19 at Image Makers Art, Gallery of Stars in New Hope.
