PERPETUAL GROOVE CONCOCTS SWEET OBLIVIOUS ANTIDOTE WITH HIGHLY INNOVATIVE HARMONIZED RECORDS DEBUT

Voted one of the Best Emerging Artists of 2002 on JamBase.com

MEBANE, NC -- PERPETUAL GROOVE has reworked the face of the improv-rock environment for its Harmonized Records debut. Fresh from being voted No. 3 among the Best Emerging Artists of 2002 in the JamBase.com Readers Poll, PERPETUAL GROOVE has recaptured the originality, integrity and passion abandoned in much of todays rock on SWEET OBLIVIOUS ANTIDOTE, set for Jan. 21 release on Harmonized Records.

The new CD is craftily infused with stylistic tapestries of funk, soaring jazz, reggae, electronica, and polyrhythmic-trance grooves.

Think Phish, but with much better vocal and lyrical content and impressive melodic and rhythmic interplay that sets them apart, says Lee Crumpton, co-founder of Harmonized Records and president of its parent company, Leeways Home Grown Music Network.

The Savannah, Ga., foursome has been the fastest growing act of the South in 2002. Keenly tuned into its youthful audience, the band known by fans as "P-Groove" has created a unique promotional machine utilizing the connected convenience of the Internet, live CD trading of shows, and online music downloads to rapidly propel its career. The band has replaced traditional flyers with live CDs that simultaneously advertise upcoming shows and showcase their music. What began as hundreds of free discs being distributed to new markets grew to over 10,000 free CDs in just under a year. This groundbreaking program has helped PERPETUAL GROOVE fill venues in markets where it had never even played.

The band also encourages taping and trading of live shows, creating a clamoring of fans to get the latest shows and setlists. Extensive touring has brought PERPETUAL GROOVE out of the low country of Georgia to the Carolinas, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana with tours scheduled for the Midwest, West and Northeast. PERPETUAL GROOVE is poised to significantly increase its national fan base in 2003 with all eyes looking to the future.

PERPETUAL GROOVE has embraced technological innovation on SWEET OBLIVIOUS ANTIDOTE -- a cohesive effort that connects well-crafted lyricism and beautiful, enduring melodies to form a cerebral tapestry of groove. Dark, hypnotic bass and guitar pockets give way, to bright up-tempo sections in which guitarist Brock Butler lays his carefully crafted guitar chops and clever loops. P-Grooves muti-textured sonic backdrop takes the listener across the digital divide from deep funk trance beats into tube driven southern brightness.

"What we're doing," keys player Matt McDonald explains, "is setting the biggest goal behind everything. Every show we play and everywhere we go, the goal is to bring good music to our listeners and let everyone forget about their troubles. We try to collectively bring positive energy and vibe to a room and the audience."

The future looks bright for PERPETUAL GROOVE, as new listeners continue discover a band and album that are unique and special.

SWEET OBLIVIOUS ANTIDOTE is being distributed nationally through Leeway's Home Grown Music Network and can be purchased online at www.HomeGrownMusic.net or via phone at 1-800-6LEEWAY.
