FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE MUSICAL BOX Re-creates GENESIS Paradise:

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway 30th Anniversary North American Tour

The band has adopted (at a cellular level) the British progressive art-rock band Genesis, with its pioneering approach to theatrics, graphics, and presentation - Spectator

Now this is what we came here for, the whole enchilada, performed as it was intended.  Magic, sheer magic.  - The Daily Examiner (UK)

Before Peter Gabriels frenetic images and conceptual brilliance took an unsuspecting young video age by storm, his last foray with Genesis, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway proved a high water mark of progressive music on the live concert stage.  After its 1974 release, the band embarked on an extensive world tour, performing the ambitious double album at more than 140 dates from start to finish.

Thirty years later, THE MUSICAL BOX has completely captured this full-on experience of masks, costumes, and special effects with unwavering attention to detail. Note for note, thread for thread, THE MUSICAL BOX is introducing several generations of rock fans to the multi-sensory experience that of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway just the way it was, and the only way it should ever continue to be, on a very special 30th Anniversary North American tour that includes multi-night engagements in Milwaukee (PABST Theater), New York City (Tribeca) and Philadelphia (the historic Keswick Theatre in nearby Glenside, PA). Paving the way for these highly anticipated North American shows was a 42-date spring tour of Europe earlier this year, in which THE MUSICAL BOX brought audiences to their feet in packed houses throughout Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Since 1993, THE MUSICAL BOX has been performing meticulous recreations of Gabriel-era Genesis, giving audiences the experience of an original Genesis concert.  More than 250,000 people have witnessed the theatrical and musical reproductions of defining classics Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound, and now The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.  Among those most impressed are the original members of Genesis themselves. In attendance at some shows during the spring of 2002 were none other than Peter Gabriel and Mike Rutherford. Guitarist Steve Hackett even played an encore with the band at the London Royal Albert Hall.  Most impressive perhaps is the distinguishing honor that THE MUSICAL BOX is the only band that has ever obtained an official license to perform The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway from Genesis and Peter Gabriel.

Based on the surreal story of Rael, a juvenile delinquent from Puerto Rico who finds himself a graffiti artist in New York City, the performance draws its characters and audiences alike into a world of strange creatures and mythological archetypes. As Rael descends into an underworld beneath the Manhattan streets to rescue his brother John, the human minds capacity for the bizarre and the genius it takes to access and present it comes crystal clear.

Praise flows easily after every performance by THE MUSICAL BOX, from fans and the media alike. To attend The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is to attend not only a concert, but a journey. And one that should not be missed.

THE MUSICAL BOX IS:
