MUSIC PICKS
By Bill Frost
PROJECT/OBJECT
Were playing the music faithfully, and thats
what makes it feel right,
former Frank Zappa guitarist Ike Willis told the Boston Globe,
dispelling the
misconception that his Project/Object is merely a Big Z cash-in tribute.
It
would feel weird if it was done under false pretenses, trying to be a
cover
band. With Project/Object taking on material ranging from 1966s
Freak Out
to Zappas latter-day jazzbo excursions, Willis likens his band to a
symphony
playing Bach or Beethovenjust a helluva lot weirder. Bobby Brown
Goes
Down in C Minor, anyone? Wednesday, March 6 @ The Dead Goat Saloon,
165 S.
West Temple,
328-GOAT, 9:30 p.m.
