GUITARIST: `PHISH FOLLOWS ME
AROUND!'
BURLINGTON, Vt. (Wireless Flash) -- 22-year-old jam band
guitarist Seth Yacovone recently got one of the biggest
compliments a self-respecting hippie could get -- Phish
follows HIM around.
Yacovone became a kind of longhaired, guitar-shredding
Horatio Alger a few years back when he participated in a
guitar contest which Phish's Trey Anastasio was judging.
Although he got a lowly third place in the contest,
Yacovoco says Anastasio was so impressed by his fretwork that
he kept tabs on his career.
But it gets better. As soon as Yacovone formed his band,
the Seth Yacovone Band, Phish started following HIM around
like the legions of Phishheads and Deadheads have been doing
for years.
Finally, Yacovone was honored beyond his wildest dreams
-- he says now when Anastasio shows up at Yacavone's shows,
he climbs up on stage and becomes part of his backing band.
Yacovone and Co., and probably some members of Phish,
are currently on the road touring in support of "Standing On
The Sound."
