Opening
slot for Salvador Santana, Millenium Music Conference Showcase, Anticipate
Summer East Coast Tour
PHILADELPHIA – Armed with a surge of
industry and media acclaim for poise, skill and onstage charisma that belies
his mere 18 years – budding guitar hero Emmett Stang is on the verge
of unfurling his brawny power trio, STANG, into the collective
conscience of rock, blues and jazz fans everywhere.
Having garnered significant notice in
conjunction with an attention-grabbing CD/DVD release party for the band’s
Stairway Records companion debuts, LIVE! AT THE … GRAPE STREET
PHILADELPHIA, STANG has landed a choice opening slot for
Salvador Santana (son of Carlos) at the North Star in Philadelphia (June
10), followed by a showcase performance at the Millenium Music
Conference in Harrisburg, PA (June 23).
Degy Booking International, which quickly
signed STANG based on the strength of its exuberant CD/DVD Release Party
performance, is currently plotting an East Coast tour designed to introduce
STANG with eye-opening impact to markets well beyond the familiar
Philadelphia region and keep the band on the road through the summer and
fall.
As the ferocious leader of STANG, Emmett
already is being touted as one of the next great lead guitar players,
naturally channeling the transcendent contributions of Jimi Hendrix, Eddie
Van Halen and Stevie Ray Vaughan with distinctive jazz seasoning. And he’s
only 18.
The Philadelphia Daily News said
this “dynamic, hard-rocking power trio” is fronted by “a guitar god in the
making,” with the Philadelphia Inquirer adding that Emmett is
a guitar hero “in the tradition of Eddie Van
Halen and Alvin Lee. … His sound harks back to the best of arena rock, with
elements of jazz mixed in with his shredding solos.”
Flanked by Kevin Vecchione (Eddie
Van Halen, Zakk Wylde) on bass and vocals, and Jimmy Coleman (John
Legend, Amos Lee) on drums, Emmett has assembled a band that delivers an
explosive fusion of styles - from rock to world music – to both the stage
and the studio. Emmett has lived all over the world and trained
intensively for this moment. The Toronto transplant, who recently earned his
U.S. citizenship, has channeled his diverse cultural experiences in a
singular artistic direction that is rocketing upward.
Emmett has attracted some of Philadelphia’s top production
talent to help craft his first recordings – four-time Grammy-nominated
producer Skip Drinkwater (Moby, Incubus, Lee Ritenour) and Grammy-winning
studio maven Phil Nicolo (The Roots,
Train, Fugees), who mixed and engineered
at his world-renowned Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA.
LIVE! AT THE … GRAPE STREET PHILADELPHIA proves that as leader of STANG, Emmett is ready to
give back to the world all he has assimilated – with so much more to come.
LIVE! AT THE … GRAPE STREET PHILADELPHIA are available at
Amazon and CD Baby, with downloadable tracks coming soon to major internet
music services.
JENN
STANG
bio
It’s no wonder the music of
JENN STANG has such an inherent global perspective and the gentle
seasoning of world cultures, past and present.
By the time she settled in Philadelphia at age 11, she already had
lived in Europe, South America and Canada.
And now, on the eve of her 20th birthday, Jenn is finally
celebrating the performing and songwriting career for which she has been
preparing all her life – with the simultaneous release of a live CD and
DVD, both titled LIVE AT THE … GRAPE STREET PHILADELPHIA,
on Stairway Records. Making things even sweeter, her arrival as a
recording artist comes just as Jenn has earned her U.S. citizenship.
