CHERRY HILL, NJ Another great year of music and other family-oriented entertainment is bursting at the seams once again for the annual Camden County summer line-up of events. And families can experience all of this entertainment for FREE!

South Jersey residents can enjoy stellar and diverse line-up of first-rate concert attractions presented by the Camden County Board of Freeholders without crossing over the bridge into Philadelphia! Every year Camden County tops all other counties in the state with their entertainment offerings and loaded list of concerts performances one which can compete with just about any other concert roster. Indeed, something can be found in any number of outdoor settings this summer on just about any night of the week, as Camden County brings some 100+ entertainment events to its residents.

The summer entertainment slate is anchored by several concert series offering top name national acts in a multitude of musical genres, plus an extensive schedule of free family fun including outdoor "drive-in" style movies, workshops, music and more. The COOPER RIVER PARK TWILIGHT CONCERT SERIES, the 15th ANNUAL SUNSET JAZZ SERIES at Wiggins Waterfront Park, the SUNDOWN MUSIC SERIES in Haddon Heights and the 2nd ANNUAL MIDDLE COUNTY CONCERT SERIES in Lindenwold combine to bring three dozen concert events surveying everything from classic rock to singer-songwriters to jazz and the esteemed PHILADELPHIA ORCHESTRA.

"We urge all the citizens of Camden County and the surrounding areas to come out and enjoy the outstanding entertainment we offer all summer long," says Freeholder Director Louis Capelli Jr., liaison to the Camden County Division of Special Events. "The quality, diversity and consistency of these concerts from year to year is just exceptional. There's never a problem finding something for anyone to enjoy, regardless of age. We'e equally proud they can take in the outdoor splendor of our magnificent parks in the process.

"Put simply," he adds, "We believe Camden County's fine lineup is unmatched in South Jersey, if not the entire state."

The highlight of Cooper River Park this summer is the extremely popular annual Independence Day extravaganza which kicks off July with a bang. The celebration once again explodes, classic rock style, on the Fourth of July at Jack Curtis Stadium in Cooper River Park when FOREIGNER takes the stage, followed by the always crowd-pleasing, spectacular fireworks display. The "Classic Rock 102.9 MGK Let Freedom Rock Fest" consistently draws 60,000 people to rejoice with classic rock legends and behold the glorious fireworks display, sponsored by Pennsauken Township, and viewable from both sides of the Cooper River. The Twilight Concert series begins with local Mummers Parade favorites FRALINGER STRING BAND performing July 13. Pioneering folk singer-songwriter JUDY COLLINS brings her music of hope and healing to Pennsauken July 20, and revered country music figure RALPH STANLEY brings Appalachian folk and bluegrass July 27. Doo-wop's founding fathers, THE INK SPOTS, will kick off August on the 3rd and a week later (Aug. 11), the Garden State Chorale will present A SALUTE TO BROADWAY. August 17 brings the best of jazz in the TWILIGHT JAZZ show featuringJEANIE BRYSON, Woody Herman Band Leader FRANK TIBERI, BOOTSIE BARNES and other special guests. And finally, traditional doo-wop will appear again Aug. 24 with Fifties great LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS.

The 15th annual SUNSET JAZZ SERIES at Wiggins Waterfront Park offers the smooth sounds of world-renowned artists and is led by legendary Philadelphia bassist and his band CHARLES FAMBROUGH & FRIENDS (July 11). Sultry singer-saxophonist MINDI ABAIR will take the stage at the Camden waterfront July 17 and avant-garde jazz drummer JOE CHAMBERS will follow July 25. The jazz series continues its eclectic mix with "Philly's premiere swing outfit" THE CITY RHYTHM ORCHESTRA (July 31) and then WAR, one of the first and best bands to skillfully fuse rock, jazz, Latin, and R&B (August 8). This amazing line-up of jazz artists closes up with "the new First Lady of jazz" DIANE SCHUUR (August 15) and Argentinean jazz legend GATO BARBIERI (August 22). Other special events featured at Wiggins Waterfront Park this summer include the "Two Cities Two States" fireworks and concert (July 1), the Philadelphia Orchestra (July 7) and the 2006 WXPN All About the Music Festival (July 21-23).

Only the best contemporary folk, blues, rock and alternative country artists will be found in the SUNDOWN MUSIC SERIES at Haddon Lake Park's McLaughlin-Norcross Memorial Dell in Haddon Heights this summer. The series kicks off May 31 with singer-songwriter LAUREN HART, who recently left her TV morning show co-host position at the 10! Show on NBC10. Vocalist-guitarist JEFFREY GAINES takes the outdoor stage in Haddon Heights June 14 while WXPN favorite PATTY LARKIN closes out the month (June 28). July brings Southern California singer-songwriter favorite KARLA BONOFF (July 12) and England's acidic pub-rocker GRAHAM PARKER combines punk's energy with his deeply rooted love of American R&B, country and soul to keep the series on the cutting edge (July 26). American fusion-roots rocker DUKE ROBILLARD brings his band to Haddon Heights on August 9 and longtime Philadelphia hero and acclaimed singer-songwriter ROBERT HAZARD spotlights the series with his Americana-flavored songs and stories August 23.

The second annual MIDDLE COUNTY CONCERT SERIES extends the summer program's reach into Lindenwold and beautiful Lindenwold Park. The five-show lineup gets off to a rockin' start, Jersey style, with BRUCE IN THE USA, the World's # Tribute to Bruce Springsteen (June 30), then offers Camden County favorites the CITY RHYTHM ORCHESTRA (July 14), the Mummers favorites FERKO STRING BAND (July 28), "COUNTRY COMES TO LINDENWOLD" featuring GRITZZ along with Dance Instruction (Aug. 11), and the annual Classic Car "Showoff" & Doo-Wop Revue with THE DOVELLS (Aug. 25).

Family entertainment is always a big part of Camden County's summer series, and Mom and Dad have more reason than ever to enjoy this summer with the kids in the parks. Saluting over 70 years of the drive-in movie theater - which got its start right here in Camden County - is the STARLIGHT CLASSIC MOVIE SERIES. The annual outdoor summer movie collection kicks off June 16 with one of baseball's best films The Natural, projecting a half-dozen Hollywood favorites from various genres onto the big screen at Cooper River Park through Aug. 25, when the Humphrey Bogart classic The Maltese Falcon closes the series.
