UNDERGIRL IS
HERE!
NEW CD MY
FLASH ON YOU
BURNS DOWN THE ROCK ‘N
ROLL
WITH FIERCE DOSE OF ALL THAT IS COOL
“One of the 10 must-see Philadelphia area bands for 2005”
– Courier-Post (NJ)
“Blissfully snotty … taut rock that's overwhelmingly
zealous and fantastically femme ...
the album is an accurate snapshot of singer-guitarist Amy
DiCamillo's stage presence: untamed, elegantly primal, very
punk rock. -- Philadelphia City Paper
" MY FLASH ON YOU seems to vibrate with the anger of the
over-looked.fusing revved-up guitars with AMY DICAMILLO'S
furious howl, the record cannily evokes the days before punk
rock got its fangs filed at the local HOT TOPIC." –
Philly Weekly
PHILADELPHIA -- Just like the jolt to the system the
peaceful, easy mid-‘70s got when punk rock arrived,
UNDERGIRL has done it again with MY FLASH ON YOU.
The band’s latest CD, packed with 11 of the type of
original rock ‘n’ roll songs you haven’t felt since
Sticky Fingers, heralds music’s wake-up call once again,
but with a difference. This time, the women are running the
show.

bio

The band’s name may be inspired
by a certain 1960s cartoon superhero, but make no mistake —
there is no mild-mannered alter-ego behind UNDERGIRL.
The perfect combo of rock hero attitude, indie street cred
and sex appeal, UNDERGIRL is raw aggression ready to
slap some life back into a sleepy music industry.
If the Dead
Boys and the Hot Snakes had a baby, named her
rock ‘n’ roll, and she grew up to have the mouth of Mick
Jagger, the hair of MC5, the moves of Marc
Bolan, the mind of Syd Barret and the heart of Nick Drake, you might begin to get the picture.
“There is nothing better than
this band,” pronounces frontwoman Amy DiCamillo.
The Courier-Post (N.J.) seconds that emotion by
naming UNDERGIRL one of the 10 must-see
Philadelphia area bands for
2005. Not to allow
DiCamillo’s red-hot bravado to be called false for a minute,
UNDERGIRL backs it up with a brand new release, MY FLASH ON YOU — 11-tracks of fast ‘n’ furious
female-fronted punk rock straight from the City of Brotherly
Love.

quotes
“Undergirl gets all that was good
about (punk), mixing slashing chords, sneering vocals and exuberant
attitude with 21st century smarts.” –
Philadelphia Inquirer
“The band is taut and polished, and
singer-guitarist Amy DiCamillo channels her frustrations into feral
howls aimed straight for the heart. If songs like the anti-sexism
rant "Boy's Club" or the Runaways-esque ‘Fancy Snakes’ catch on,
Undergirl could be headed for a major breakthrough.” –

"In concert,
Undergirl is raw but surprisingly tuneful, and singer/guitarist Amy
DiCamillo shows off her Courtney Love-meets-Gene Simmons stage persona."

“If Gwen
Stefani was the least bit punk, she could be a relative – albeit distant
cousin – of Amy DiCamillo.”
